Welcome to The Abbey, Raymond Island. Holiday accommodation, retreats, events and conferences are our specialty. We are in a beautiful location, right on the edge of the Gippsland Lakes. Koalas, kangaroos and echidnas cross our path every day.
Book AccommodationThe Abbey is an initiative of the Gippsland Anglican community. Our focus is threefold – hospitality, spirituality and the environment. All are welcome.
Hospitality
The Abbey’s Accommodation & Conference Facilities are available for individuals, families and groups to hire for short or extended stays.
The Abbey is an ideal venue for staff retreats, community gatherings, or family holidays with site facilities such as a large commercial kitchen, common dining and meeting rooms as well as a self-contained cottage, motel rooms and retreat accommodation.
Spirituality
The Abbey is a place for fun and activity, for silence and rest, for pilgrimage, reflection, healing, learning and recreation. It is a place where all are welcome – a place of connection and reconnection.
Environment
Before you even reach The Abbey you’ve already entered one of the most captivating regions of East Gippsland; the original homeland of the Gunaikurnai people.
From Paynesville, ride the ferry across the McMillan Strait to discover Raymond Island. The Abbey is set on several acres of open bushland where koalas, echidnas and kangaroos are frequent visitors and the birdlife chorus fulfills the island’s soundtrack.
